When life presents difficult losses or transitions, when the comfort or advice of family and friends prove inadequate, working with a trained professional is the best response. Psychotherapy is a way to relieve distress and emotional pain; it helps you to gain greater under-standing of yourself and promotes positive change.
Clinical psychologists like myself are trained to diagnose and treat psychiatric illnesses such as depression, ADD and OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). I help you identify conflicts, as well as your emotional, cognitive and interpersonal challenges, and I then work with you to learn and implement new approaches and skills in your every day life. Along with others in my field who share an interest in wellness and positive psychology, I also work with you to recognize and develop your strengths in order to increase your sense of empowerment and resiliency and to learn to accept and live with who you are.
"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced."
James Baldwin
